Established in 1974, Century Signs & Awnings began its journey as a small awning company. Over the years, we've grown and diversified to offer a comprehensive range of services to our valued clients.

Ancient Mariner Industries

Gary Taylor acquired Ancient Mariner Industries and embarked on a journey to establish our presence in the Lower Mainland. We were dedicated to the sale and production of Awnings Products, operating from our facility on East 5th Avenue in Vancouver.

Stitching Specialists

Capitalizing on our extensive experience in cutting and sewing, the company diversified into the realm of Industrial Fabrics, specifically focusing on juvenile products, life jackets, and safety gear.

Lighting It Up

As technology and tools advanced, we seamlessly integrated backlighting and graphics into our product range. This transformation marked the company's evolution into a comprehensive signage provider, covering a wide array of signage solutions.

Century Signs & Awnings

With a complete shift in the company's focus towards all forms of signage, the organization underwent a transformation, adopting the name Century Sign Systems Ltd and relocating to one of its present address at 8125 130th Street in central Surrey.

Hello Squamish!

Inspired by the extensive projects during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the company determined that establishing a Squamish location would enhance its capacity to efficiently manage all production and fieldwork demands within the Sea-to-Sky region.

Skiing is a four generation sport for our Family. We got Seasons Passes at Whistler in 1965 and have skied there for the past 58 years.

I'm a part of two soccer teams, one in Squamish and another in North Vancouver. When it comes to sports, I'm an avid follower of English soccer, or as they call it, "football." Lately, I've also developed a newfound interest in college football and the NFL.

We've (me and my partner) been loyal fans of the Canucks since the early '90s, and let's face it, it's been a rollercoaster of emotions! That loss to the Boston Bruins in 2011 was especially tough to swallow. On a brighter note, we're avid tennis enthusiasts, both watching and playing whenever we get the chance. Cheering for our BC Lions and the Toronto Blue Jays is another sports passion that keeps us entertained.

Khuram Shahzad

Favorite Sports: Volleyball, Tennis, Formula 1, Cricket

I had a stint as a professional cricketer from the age of 15 to 20, and I continued playing for another ten years. However, I eventually transitioned to my current favorite sports, which are volleyball and tennis. While I love playing sports, when it comes to watching, my unwavering passion is Formula 1. I also occasionally enjoy following volleyball series, tuning into tennis opens, and catching up on major cricket and soccer world events.

I've been a sporadic follower of hockey, being from Montreal, the Canadiens naturally hold a special place in my heart. I used to keep up with the Canucks, but it's been a bit of a rollercoaster for them. My love for football dates back to high school when our school team was the Patriots, so I naturally followed New England for a while.

Recently, though, I've found myself drawn to the Chiefs due to the unexpected connection between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. It's funny because I've never been a die-hard Swifty, but I tuned into a game a few weeks ago as a joke, and I was blown away by how well the team can play!

We typically head to Cultus in June and Porteau Cove in November. At 1.5 years old, he's a brindle mix of pug and Boston terrier. He's all about squeaky toys, tasty treats, snuggles, running around the backyard, playing fetch, and, well, letting out the occasional fart. But he's not too fond of delivery folks, bearded guys, windy days, loud noises, running low on treats, or snoozing alone in his own bed.

Meet Teeka, a 12-year-old bundle of energy with a mix of Pointer and Heeler. Teeka's favorite pastime is chasing after remote control trucks and cars, often under the skilled operation of my better half, Christy. Taking leisurely walks in the nearby park is another activity she thoroughly enjoys. Although Teeka is a spirited pup, she's not a fan of rain, which can be a bit challenging, considering our Vancouver location!

Twitch, the gentle bunny, is 5 years old. Her name comes from the playful way she runs when she's excited – a sideways, mid-air triple jump.

Simba & Scar

Simba was adopted in 2019 as a tiny kitten from Agassiz. His name was inspired by my all-time favorite childhood movie, and it was quite the coincidence that the remake of that movie came out the very week we brought him home. He's a stunning, affectionate tabby who firmly believes he's a dog. He plays fetch, occasionally lets out a growl, and absolutely adores bones!

Scar, another member of the family, had her beginnings in a barn in Pemberton. Initially, we had planned to name her Nala, but she was so wild and untamed when we first found her that we left with a few scratches for our efforts. It took months of patience, but now she shares the strongest bond with me and has become my beloved baby girl!

Meet Humbert, the 1.5-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog. He's a bundle of joy, and every morning, his eyes pop open with boundless excitement. His tail wags incessantly, and he can't wait to start the day. Humbert adores visiting the Squamish office, where he insists on belly rubs from everyone who walks through the door.
